COTULLA IS ON THE UP AND UP

During the last 3 months we have been steadily making some progress on some of our projected goals. We have seen an increase in membership with at least 5 new members. The Recruitment committee has been actively involved in promoting our local chamber of commerce. Our committees have also been exploring ideas on how we can better promote our local businesses and communities. We will have to work closely together with other committees and organizations to ensure that Cotulla gets the recognition it deserves.

Cotulla/ La Salle Chamber announces area visitors guide

The Cotulla/ La Salle Chamber of Commerce is working closely with Jose Garcia of Graphitiks Interactive Marketing in the development of the first Area Visitors Guide, to include Cotulla, Dilley and Pearsall. Garcia will be contacting local businesses and introducing the brochure draft and the future plans for the guide. We would like to thank Graphitiks Interactive Marketing for its hard work and dedication to this project.

The Chamber of Commerce has added two new directors:

Chad Chamness - Pastor of the United Methodist Church
Iris Avila - Owner of the Pointless Pencil

We also had one resignation, Marilyn Reyes, it is difficult to see her go but God has other plans for her.

During the month of February 2017

We had one new business open, Blue Steer Truck Wash and one that is scheduled to open soon, Legacy Gym. We have other construction activity in the community and will update you in the next newsletter or at the meeting on the March 14, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. Also at the meeting we will have several businesses that will give us an update on all the activity in the community. We have a lot of traffic and seems too obvious that the oil and gas activity has picked up again.

On another note, I had the pleasure of visiting with Bill Cotulla at “The Forum.”  Bill is still very interested in his community and our local current events. I was able to share some insights on things that are happening here. He offered some advise and suggestions and stated that he would like for us to keep him “in the loop.”

We have several events coming up:

  • The Wild Hog CookOff, happening this weekend
  • Easter Egg Hunt for Cotulla and Encinal, in April

The Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting donations for this project:

  • Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on April 8, 2017 - Coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the LaSalle County Steakhouse for hosting the February Meeting for the chamber. Thank you so much for your support!

In closing, I want to thank the businesses and community for supporting the local Chamber of Commerce. We would love for all to be a part of this organization and help us grow together. Thank you for all you do!

On a side note, the newsletter will be generated quarterly instead of monthly.
