NEWSLETTER from the PRESIDENTS DESK

GREETINGS!
I pray everyone has been enjoying the rain. This is so unusual for our area. Our country looks like it is spring all over again. It is so green and pretty. If the wildflowers would bloom again, we would think it is spring. The cool weather has been nice too.

MEMORIAL DAY MAY 30
I hope everyone had an enjoyable and restful Memorial Day weekend. May we never forget the sacrifices our American men and women made for us and are still making for us so can have the freedom we so take for granted and some people don’t appreciate. Thank all of our Veterans and those serving in military today and in the past for all that you have done and are still doing for us.

We also awarded three (3) college students with $1000 scholarships. The students who received these scholarships are: Raney Hanks, Cody Thomas and Cadence Tripp.

FIRE AND SAFETY PREVENTION PROGRAM
The Chamber promoted a fire safety and prevention program on May 24 at 6:00 P. M. at the A. B. Alexander Convention Center, Michelle Joseph and Don Smith with the Fire Department presented the power point presentation. There were eleven in attendance. It was a very informative program. They showed a video of two teenagers in Oklahoma who were killed at a well site because they did not understand the danger of what can happen with just a spark. We hope the school will be on board to show this video to our high school students when school resumes in the fall.
