GREETINGS
I pray everyone had a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving. We all have a lot to be thankful for. Now, we have the Christmas season to look forward too.

BOARD MEETING AND MEMBERSHIP MEETING
I want to remind everyone that we will not have a board meeting or a membership meeting in December.

MAIN STREET
The Cotulla Main Street is having their annual lighted parade tomorrow night at 6:00 P.M. The Christmas tree lights will be turned on after the parade and the children will be able to visit with Santa Claus. Please make plans to attend and thank Patsy for putting this event on for the community. The Christmas Gathering will be hosted by the Main Street only this year. It will be held at Stockmen’s Palace which used to be Locked and Loaded Saloon on December 17, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 P. M. It is by invitation only and Patsy has told me to invite all of our membership so you are officially invited to the event. Be sure to put it on your calendar.

RIBBON CUTTING
The ribbon cutting for the Fairfield Inn and Suites was very nice and well attended. I want to thank my directors for being there to support the new business in town. We want to welcome them to the community and we wish them much success in their business endeavor.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE
The sheriff’s office is collecting monetary donations to help the under privileged children in the community. If you see one of the deputies or the sheriff please ask them how you can help them in this endeavor.

FAIR ASSOCIATION
The Fair Association sponsored the Kevin Fowler Concert. I understand that it was a success. We hope they will continue to have much success in raising money to further the projects they want to accomplish at the fairgrounds. The pavilion is very nice. It is a nice asset to the fairgrounds.

HUNTERS APPRECIATION
Our Hunter’s Appreciation was another success. We are happy with the results of the auction and the raffle sales. We look forward to next year and bigger and better things. We will have an added attraction next year that will help our event tremendously. The Dilley Feed and Grain boys will be joining us with their deer contest and awards program. We at the Chamber are excited about that. It will be a lot of work but will be well worth it in the end. We want to thank the sponsors and donors again for their generous sponsorships and donations. Without you we would not be able to put this event on. See photos.

BUSINESS OF THE MONTH
The business of the month for December is McDONALDS. Congratulations to them. Look for the picture and write-up in the paper.

NEW OFFICERS
I reported last month that we had appointed our new officers and board members. Katy Franklin has resigned from the board and moved from Cotulla. We wish her much success in whatever she chooses to do in her live. We will now be looking for someone to come in as an interim board member until elections next October.

BRONZE STATUE UNVEILING
The unveiling of the bronze statue of the Whitetail Deer at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Museum was well attended. The javelina will be unveiled in December. When the museum is up and running, make plans to go and see the statues.

COTULLA COUNTRY CHRISTMAS
The Cotulla Country Christmas was cancelled due to non-participation. We could not get enough vendors to warrant us holding the event. We are now looking at other avenues that we can pursue that will help the chamber be involved more in the community.

BUSINESS MEETING AND MEMBERSHIP
The board of directors meeting and membership meeting will be held on January 12, 2016. The board of directors meeting will be at 5:00 P.M. and the membership meeting will be at 6:00 P.M. at the A. B. Alexander Convention Center. Please make plans to attend.

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Board Members and myself, we want to wish you a Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year. May we all remember what the true meaning of this season is: Jesus is the reason for the season.

Merry Christmas.

Brenda Talbert, President
Cotulla-LaSalle Chamber of Commerce
