We, at The Chamber, are glad to have you as a part of our community. Ours is an area that is rich in history and  traditions. From the earliest settlers crossing into Texas at the Nueces River in ox carts going North to the latest jet  planes landing at our modern airport, transportation and travel have been an important part of our lives. Our community welcomes the oilfield activities and workers who are developing the Eagle Ford Shale in our midst. Garros Subdivision is a multi-million dollar mixed –use investment by Laredoans Eduardo Garza and Salvador Rosas designed for residential and commercial use. The La Salle County Wild Hog Cook-Off and Fair was first held in March of 1972 as a community project by the Cotulla chapter of the Young Homemakers of Texas. Now held annually the second weekend of March, the Wild Hog Cook-Off has grown into a weekend-long event packed full of good-humored family fun, contests, rodeos, and, of course, barbeque. The original Museum was a one-room schoolhouse donated to the Historical Commission by the Cotulla Independent School District. The Museum has grown over the years from the original one-room school building. In April, 1997, Gladys "Beanie" McMahon Porter donated her house and lots to the Historical Commission for the purposes of a Museum. The original Museum was moved to it's new location at 201S. Stewart St. The Museum has been completely renovated and contains many pictures, displays and artifacts of La Salle County and the Brush Country. VISIT WEBSITE.
