For the 6th consecutive year, Mariachi Cotuleño successfully defended their title, earning a 1st place to retain the 3A T.A.M.E. State Mariachi Title!  

On Friday, February 8th, Mariachi Cotuleño competed at the Texas Association of Mariachi Educators State Mariachi Finals in San Antonio, TX at Palo Alto College.  They were one of five schools in the 2A/3A division which included:  San Diego HS, Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco HS, Mathis HS, and Falfurrias HS.

The group put a terrific performance full of energy, passion, and pride earning them top honors as the 6-time State Champions. Their musical selections were: Es Bonito Zacatecas, Popurri de Danzones (Ixtapa, En Tu Pelo, and Como Quien Pierde Una Estrella), and Que Bonito Es Esta Vida.

Performing members are: (Violins) San Juanita Vazquez, Brittney Gonzales, Emily Arenas, Jadrian Rodriguez, and Marina Hernandez, (Trumpets) Brandyn Ramirez and Ethan Flores, (Guitarron) Linda Castillo and Joseph Martinez, (Vihuelas) Javier Sanchez and Alexia Miranda, (Guitars) Josue Perez, James Carrizales, Madison Perales, Aracei Deleon, and Marco Linares.  Vocalist throughout the show are: Marco Linares, Joseph Martinez, Jadrian Rodrigues, San Juanita Vazquez, and Alexia Miranda.

Mariachi Cotuleño is under the direction of Francisco C. Ramirez Jr., with consultant Elio Ramirez Jr., along with Director of Bands, Jaime Martinez and Middle School Director, Marleni Garcia-Ramirez.
